Getting there

Mobile coverage is given as inside the JR Yamanote Line loop, about 30 minutes from Shinjuku-Gyoenmae, at the rate the mobile page says is included above. Yokohama adds ¥3,000–¥5,000. The mobile page and the FAQ disagree on Haneda (¥3,000 against ¥5,000), Narita (about ¥40,000 against ¥30,000) and Yokosuka (about ¥20,000 against ¥10,000); Narita and Yokosuka, four and three hours round trip, are described as generally declined. Overseas travel is possible with expenses agreed case by case. No table is brought, so sessions are on a bed or the floor; towels rent at ¥2,000 large, ¥1,000 small, requested 24 hours ahead.

Good to know before you go

• The oil is 100% sweet almond with a little lavender, imported from France, and said to be light enough that no shower is needed afterwards; one is available on request.
• Completely tattoo-friendly, unlike some Japanese spas and onsens.
